- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 c. saltine crackers, crumbled
- vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Ranch-style salad dressing
Directions

1Peel onion, leaving root end intact.

2Cut onion vertically into quarters, cutting to within 1/2 inch of root.

3Cut each quarter vertically into thirds.

4Place onion in boiling water 1 minute.

5Remove and place in ice water 5 minutes.

6Loosen petals if necessary.

7Drain onion, cut side down.
