- 1/4 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine
- 7 to 8 large yellow onions, cut in large chunks
- 1/2 c. uncooked rice (not instant)
- 5 c. salted boiling water
- 2/3 c. half and half
Directions

1Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat.

2Add onions and saute until transparent.

3Remove from heat.

4Preheat oven to 225°. Cook rice in boiling salt water, drain well.

5Blend with onions, cheese and half and half.

6Taste to season with salt.

7Turn into shallow baking dish.

8Bake 1 hour.

9Great served with baked ham.
