  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 large Bermuda onions, sliced and separated
  • 1/2 lb. Parmesan cheese, grated (not in the can)
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 c. milk

Directions

    Cook onions in butter (covered, cook slowly 30 minutes). Spoon in baking dish.

    Spread grated cheese over onions; add pepper.

    Heat soup and milk in same skillet, stirring until smooth.

    Pour over onions.

    Stir lightly.

    Overlap French bread slices in ring on top.

    Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes or until bread is toasted and sauce is bubbly hot.
