- 24 saltines
- approximately 6 Tbsp. butter or margarine (enough to make them stick)
- 12 to 14 onions (preferably Vidalia, very thin)
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. sour cream
- 2 eggs
- salt and pepper to taste
- grated Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Crush saltines and mix with enough butter or margarine to make them stick to a pie plate (approximately 6 tablespoons).

2Slice onions very thin.

3Simmer in 4 tablespoons butter until soft and clear.

4Cool.

5Mix sour cream, eggs, salt and pepper.

6Add to onions.

7Pour mixture into pie plate and sprinkle with grated Cheddar cheese.

8Bake 10 minutes at 400°.

9Reduce heat to 325° and bake 20 more minutes.
