- 1/4-inch thick sliced onions
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 c. sifted self-rising flour
Directions

1Combine milk, egg and oil; stir in flour and mix well.

2Allow batter to stand 15 minutes.

3Dip onion rings into batter.

4Fry in deep fat until golden; drain on paper towels.

5Sprinkle with salt. Batter may also be used for chicken or shrimp.
