- 4 c. thin sliced onions
- 5 Tbsp. margarine
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 5 beef bouillon cubes
- 5 1/3 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 5 (2-inch) rounds toast
- 2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan
Directions

1Saute onions in margarine until rich golden brown; sprinkle with pepper.

2Dissolve bouillon cubes in water; bring to a boil. Add browned onions and salt.

3Cover; simmer for 1 hour.

4Place a toast in each dish and pour in soup.

5Sprinkle with cheese and serve.
