- 2 Tbsp. oil or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. sliced onions
- 6 c. beef broth
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. Parmesan cheese
- 6 slices French bread, toasted
Directions

1Saute onions in oil until transparent and thoroughly cooked. Add broth and pepper.

2Simmer 30 minutes.

3Divide into 6 oven-proof soup bowls.

4Top each with a slice of toasted French bread.

5Sprinkle with cheese.

6Place in broiler until cheese melts.

7Serves 6 people.
