- 1 (1/4 oz.) pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 c. sugar, divided
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1/2 c. butter or oleo
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 to 3 c. flour, divided
- 2 Tbsp. orange peel
- 2/3 c. blanched, sliced almonds
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, sprinkle yeast over water.

2Let stand 5 minutes until yeast is dissolved.

3Stir in 1/4 cup sugar, salt, sour cream, 6 tablespoons butter and eggs. Add 1 3/4 cups flour and beat 2 minutes with electric mixer. Stir in remaining flour to make soft dough. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free place until double in bulk, 45 to 60 minutes.
