- 2 c. sugar
- 2 sticks oleo (1/2 lb.)
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/3 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
- 4 c. flour
- 1 lb. chopped orange candy slices
- 1 pkg. chopped dates
- 2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Cream together sugar, oleo and eggs.

2Sift together flour and soda.

3(Use three cups in batter and reserve 1 cup for dusting candy, nuts and dates.)

4Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.

5Dust candy, nuts and dates with remaining 1 cup flour.

6Add to batter with grated orange rind.

7Mix well.
