  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1/4 c. margarine, softened
  • 2 3/4 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. Orange Crush soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. orange extract
  • 4 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/4 c. margarine, softened
  • 2/3 (1 lb.) pkg. confectioners sugar

Directions

    Cream shortening, 1/4 cup margarine and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy.

    Beat in eggs, one at a time.

    Sift flour and salt together.

    Add to batter alternately with orange soda, mixing well after each addition.

    Stir in extracts.

    Spoon into greased and floured tube pan.

    Bake at 325° to 350° for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

    Cool in pan and remove to wire rack to cool completely.

    Combine cream cheese, 1/4 cup margarine and confectioners sugar in mixing bowl.
