- 2 large oranges
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp. dry yeast or 1 cake yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. melted butter
Directions

1Cut oranges into quarters and remove seeds, leaving peel intact.

2Put into container of blender or food processor and puree; add sugar, making thick paste.

3Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Scald milk; allow to cool.

4Add yeast, salt, melted shortening and 3 tablespoons pureed orange.

5Stir in flour gradually, using enough to make a stiff dough.

6Cover and allow to rise in warm place until doubled in bulk.

7Divide dough into 2 parts.
