  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 lb. bag orange slices cut small
  • 1 pt. pitted dates chopped
  • 2 c. pecans chopped
  • 1 3 1/4 oz. can coconut flakes
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Sift together flour and salt, set aside.

    Combine together next four ingredients and 1/2 c. of flour mixture. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar and eggs; adding one at a time. Add soda and buttermilk, mix well. Then add flour and fruit mixture alternating until it is blended.

    Pour batter into a 10 inch tube pan; bake at 300° for two hours or more.
