  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 2/3 c. buttermilk
  • 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
  • 1 lb. orange candy slices, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton candied cherries, cut in half
  • 1 small can flaked coconut

Directions

    Cream the butter and sugar together; add eggs, soda and buttermilk mixture.

    Mix remaining ingredients with flour and add to creamed mixture.

    Stir well.

    Pour mixture into a tube pan. Bake at 275° for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
