Ingredients
- 2 c. cooked rice
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1 small onion, cut into thin wedges
- 1/2 c. chopped carrot
- 1/2 c. thinly sliced celery, cut on diagonal
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
- 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 2/3 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. chow mein noodles
- soy sauce
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Place rice in 2-quart casserole and set aside.

3In medium skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter.

4Add onion, carrot, celery and garlic.

5Cook and stir over medium heat until tender.

6Add to rice.

7In medium skillet, cook beef over medium heat until browned.

8Drain fat.

9Add beef and water chestnuts to rice mixture.
