Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 c.)
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans with liquid
  • 1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, sliced and drained
  • 1 cylinder refrigerated biscuits
  • grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Brown ground beef in large saucepan or skillet.

    Add garlic and onion; cook a few minutes.

    Stir in tomato soup, water, brown sugar, salt and chili powder, mixing well.

    Add beans with juice and water chestnuts.

    Mix all ingredients and heat about 5 minutes.

    Pour into a 2-quart casserole.

    Open biscuits; flatten slightly and arrange around outside edges of dish on top of mixture, overlapping if necessary.

    Brush biscuits with melted butter; sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

    Bake at 350° for 15 to 18 minutes, until biscuits brown.
