Ingredients
- 1 lb. 4x confectioners sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. mace
- 3/4 lb. (1 1/2 c.) butter or margarine
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 6 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
Directions

1Blend sugar, salt and mace in large mixing bowl. Cream the sugar mixture and butter until light and fluffy.

2Add extracts. Beat eggs into mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Add parts of flour and milk to creamed mixture alternately, blending well after each addition.

4When smooth, turn batter into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

5Bake in a moderate oven at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean and cake is golden brown.

6Allow cake to cool 5 minutes in pan. Turn out on cooling rack.

7Cool thoroughly.
