  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • One 29-ounce can pear halves in heavy syrup

    Place the butter in a baking dish and place in a 350-degree oven until the butter has melted.

    Stir together the sugar and flour; slowly stir in the milk and mix well.

    Pour the batter over the melted butter in the pan.
