- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup self-rising flour
- 3/4 cup milk
- One 29-ounce can pear halves in heavy syrup
Directions

1Place the butter in a baking dish and place in a 350-degree oven until the butter has melted.

2Leave the oven on.

3Stir together the sugar and flour; slowly stir in the milk and mix well.

4Pour the batter over the melted butter in the pan.

6Break the pears in half and place them on top of the batter; gently pour the syrup from the pears over the cobbler.
