  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1 (16 oz.) can undrained tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. onions
  • 1/2 c. carrots
  • 1/2 tsp. soy sauce

    With meat mallet (or hammer), pound steak to 1/4-inch thickness. Dredge the steak in the flour and salt. Brown steak in hot oil in large skillet.

    When brown, remove from skillet.

    Place in greased baking dish, 13 x 9 x 2-inch.

    Set aside. Add 2 tablespoons flour to pan (skillet) drippings.

    Cook 1 minute on low heat.

    Add tomatoes, celery, carrots and onions.

    Cook until thick.

    Stir in soy sauce.

    Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until tender.
