- 2 lb. stew meat, cut up (do not brown)
- 6 to 8 stalks celery, cut in 2-inch pieces
- 6 to 8 carrots, cut up into 2-inch pieces
- 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
- 3 onions, sliced thin
- 4 potatoes, cut in squares
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. red wine
- 6 Tbsp. tapioca
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Put all ingredients in heavy casserole or Dutch oven.

2Cover and bake at 250° for 5 hours, at 300° for 4 hours or 350° for 3 hours.
