Ingredients

  • 2 lb. stew meat, cut up (do not brown)
  • 6 to 8 stalks celery, cut in 2-inch pieces
  • 6 to 8 carrots, cut up into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
  • 3 onions, sliced thin
  • 4 potatoes, cut in squares
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. red wine
  • 6 Tbsp. tapioca
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Put all ingredients in heavy casserole or Dutch oven.

    Cover and bake at 250° for 5 hours, at 300° for 4 hours or 350° for 3 hours.
