  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 lb. chuck beef, cubed
  • 2 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 6 carrots
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. tomato juice or wine

Directions

    Quarter potatoes, cut celery and carrots in chunks.

    Place in buttered baking dish with meat and onion.

    Sprinkle with salt, tapioca and sugar.

    Pour chosen liquid over the stew.

    Cover and bake in 300° oven for 4 hours.
