- 3 lb. round steak, cut into small cubes
- 4 c. sliced carrots
- 2 c. diced celery
- 4 sliced onions
- 2 cans drained, sliced water chestnuts (5 oz. each)
- 2 cans sliced drained mushrooms (6 oz. each)
- 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 cans tomatoes (16 oz. each)
- 2 c. Burgundy wine
Directions

1In roasting pan or Dutch oven, mix meat, carrots, celery, onions, water chestnuts and mushrooms.

2Mix flour, sugar and salt. Stir into meat mixture. Add tomatoes and wine.

3Cover and bake for 4 hours at 350°.

4Check for tenderness.
