- 2 c. toasted bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 2 pt. oysters
- 1/2 c. whipping cream
- 2 tsp. dry sherry
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of cayenne pepper
Directions

1Combine bread crumbs and butter, stirring until well coated. Sprinkle 1/3 of the crumbs in a greased 9-inch baking dish. Drain oysters, reserving 1/4 cup liquid.

2Spoon half the oysters over crumbs. Repeat layers. Combine whipping cream, reserved oyster liquid, sherry and seasonings.

3Stir well.

4Pour over oysters and sprinkle with remaining bread crumbs.

5Bake at 425° for 30 minutes.

6Yields 6 servings.
