  • 2 c. self-rising corn meal
  • 2 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. cooked bacon bits or chopped cracklings

    Shape in pones by pressing between hands and fry on both sides until golden brown, about 10 to 15 minutes. Serve hot.
