  • 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 salt
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions

    Combine sugar, salt, syrup, milk and margarine.

    Boil in pot, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches the soft-ball stage (240 degrees on a candy thermometer).

    Add vanilla and beat mixture until it holds its shape.

    Add nuts.

    Spread quickly into a greased pan.

    Cool and cut into squares.
