  • 1/2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, grated
  • 3 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 c. cream or evaporated milk
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Combine first three ingredients in saucepan.

    Bring to a boil. Add butter and cook, stirring occasionally until 238° (soft ball stage).

    Remove from heat.

    Add extract and nuts.

    Beat until candy begins to thicken.

    Turn into buttered 9 x 9-inch pan.

    Cut into squares.

    Makes 24 squares.
