- 3 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1 c. cream or evaporated milk
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Combine first three ingredients in saucepan.

2Bring to a boil. Add butter and cook, stirring occasionally until 238° (soft ball stage).

3Remove from heat.

4Add extract and nuts.

5Beat until candy begins to thicken.

6Turn into buttered 9 x 9-inch pan.

7Cut into squares.

8Makes 24 squares.
