Ingredients
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1 cake or pkg. yeast
- 1 c. milk
- 6 Tbsp. shortening
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 c. flour
- 1 egg
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Put package of yeast in the cup of lukewarm water.

3Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt.

4Heat on stove until milk is scalded.

5Cool this mixture; add egg and 1 cup flour to make a soft dough, then add yeast mixture and remaining flour. Mix, then turn onto floured board.

6Knead and press out to about 1/2 inch thick; cut into 3 inch circles and sprinkle with melted oleo.

7Turn in half and press together.

8Let rise until doubled. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

9Grease tops with oleo when taken from oven.
