- 2 bunches carrots
- 5 Tbsp. butter
- salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Directions

1Peel the carrots and slice them into disks 3/8-inch thick. (The thin tapered ends can be cut a little thicker.)

2Put carrots and butter in a skillet large enough to contain the carrots in a single layer and add enough water to come 1/4-inch up the side of pan.

3Cook over moderate heat, uncovered.
