- 1 c. dried navy beans
- 1 lb. ditalini macaroni
- 1 c. chopped tomatoes canned or fresh
- 1/4 c. oil
- 1 tsp. oregano
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Wash beans and put in 6-quart pot, then bring to a boil.

2Turn stove off and let beans stand; set.

3Soak for 1 hour.

4Then turn stove back on and add salt, pepper, oregano, tomatoes and oil. Put on slow, cooking until tender, about 3 to 4 hours.

5Cover pot with a tight lid to keep the liquid from evaporating while you are cooking the beans.

6About 1 hour before they are eaten, cook ditalini for about 5 minutes in separate pot.

7Then drain macaroni and put it in the pot with beans, mixing well.

8Turn stove off under beans.

9The macaroni will finish cooking without heat from the stove when mixed with bean liquid.

10Serve with cheese.
