Pasta With Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. short pasta (mostaccioli, ziti, rigatoni, linguine or spaghetti)
  • 4 c. broccoli florets
  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • coarse black pepper
  • 2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Cook pasta in boiling salted water, until 3 to 5 minutes from done.

    Drop in broccoli; finish cooking pasta and broccoli until al dente.

    Drain.

    While pasta is cooking, saute oil, butter, garlic and pepper 1 to 2 minutes.

    Do not let garlic brown. Remove from heat and add Parmesan cheese.

    Pour sauce over pasta and add extra seasonings, if desired.

    Serve immediately.
