- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 whole large onion, chopped
- 6 to 8 cubes beef flavored bouillon
- 1/2 lb. bacon
- 1 (8 oz.) can peas and their juice
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. grated cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 lb. elbow macaroni
Directions

1Put oil, onion, margarine and bacon into large pasta pan over low heat.

2When onions are soft, add juice of peas and water to the handle marks.

3Add the tomato sauce, salt and pepper to taste, beef bouillon and baking soda.

4Cook for 20 minutes at slow boil.

5Add macaroni and cook for 5 minutes.

6Add peas and grated cheese and cook 10 minutes longer.
