  • 3 lbs apples
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 12 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 14 cup butter

Directions

    Core, pare and chop apples into bite-size chunks.

    Place in saucepan with water over medium heat.

    Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

    Add butter and cook, covered, about 15 min.

    ,until hot and tender, but not mushy.
