- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. evaporated milk
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Put 2 cups sugar and milk on to boil.

2In a heavy skillet, put 1 cup sugar and caramelize it slowly.

3(Heat until melted and light brown.)

4Then add to the other sugar and milk.

5Add it slowly so it will not boil over, stirring constantly.

6Continue cooking to the soft boil when dropped into cold water.

7Remove from heat.

8Add salt, nuts, butter and vanilla and beat until creamy.

9Pour into a well-greased pan to cool.

10Cut into squares.
