Ingredients

  • 1 ham bone, meaty
  • 500 g yellow split peas
  • 500 g split peas
  • 2 onions, finely diced
  • 1 large carrot, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 liter chicken stock
  • salt
  • pepper

Directions

    Cover peas with plenty of water and let soak over night.

    Drain well and rinse.

    Place all ingredients into a large soup pot, and add enough water to cover.

    Cook on low for 6-8 hours, stirring occasionally.

    Remove the bone and bay leaf, and blend soup with a stick blender until smooth.
