- 2 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 cups fresh peas
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 cup milk or 1 cup cream
Directions

1Bring the potatoes, water, and salt to a boil, turn down and simmer for about 15 minutes.

2Melt the butter in a soup pot.

3Add the onions, celery, and garlic. Saute for about 5 minutes.

4Add the peas, white pepper, and the potatoes with the water. Add more water if necessary to cover the vegetables. Bring to a boil, turn the heat down and simmer until the peas are tender.

5Put the soup into a blender or food processor and puree.

6Return the soup to the soup pot and add the milk or cream.

7Adjust the seasonings.

8Reheat before serving.
