- 1 stick margarine
- about 8 firm peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. plain flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Grease 10-inch casserole; line with peaches.

2Cream margarine and 1/2 cup sugar.

3Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk and vanilla.

4Spoon over peaches.

5Mix remaining 1 cup sugar with water; bring to boil and stir until sugar completely dissolves.

6Pour over batter. Bake at 350° for about 1 hour or until top browns.
