- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted
- 1 c. (16 oz.) sliced peaches
- 1 1/4 c. sugar, divided
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Pour melted butter into a shallow 2-quart baking dish; set aside.

2Drain peaches, reserving 1/4 cup juice.

3In a saucepan, bring peaches and juice just to a boil.

4Meanwhile, in mixing bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, flour, milk, baking powder and salt; mix well.

5Pour over butter in baking dish.

6Spoon hot peaches over batter.

7Sprinkle with remaining sugar.

8Bake at 400° for 25 minutes or until cake tests done.

9Serve warm.
