  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten hard
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 4 c. chopped peaches, fresh, frozen or canned, thoroughly drained
  • 1 c. sugar

Directions

    Cream butter and 2/3 cup sugar.

    Add beaten egg.

    Sift together flour and baking powder.

    Add alternately with milk. Beat until smooth.

    Pour over peaches that have been covered with 1 cup sugar in 1 1/2-quart casserole.

    Bake 40 minutes at 350°.
