  • 1 (9 oz.) bag Hershey's Kisses
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. peanut butter
  • 1/3 c. white sugar
  • 1/3 c. packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • bowl of white sugar

Directions

    Heat oven to 375°.

    Remove wrappers from candy and set aside. In large bowl, beat shortening and peanut butter until well blended.

    Add 1/3 cup white sugar and 1/3 cup brown sugar; beat until light and fluffy.

    Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to peanut mixture.

    Shape into 1-inch balls.

    Roll in granulated sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

    Immediately place chocolate piece on top of each cookie, pressing down so cookie cracks around edges.
