- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. peanut butter
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 48 Hershey Kisses

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2Combine all ingredients except candy in large mixer bowl.

3Mix on low speed until dough forms.

4Shape dough into balls, using a rounded teaspoonful for each.

5Roll balls in sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet.

6Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.

7Top each cookie immediately with a candy Kiss. Press down firmly so cookies crack around edge.

8Makes about 48 cookies.
