Peanut Brittle

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 2 c. raw peanuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Cook together sugar, syrup and water to a hard ball stage (250°).

    Add peanuts and butter and cook to a light caramel color (about 7 1/2 minutes over medium heat).

    Remove from heat and add vanilla and soda.

    Stir quickly and pour out on buttered foil. Let cool.
