  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 4 c. raw peanuts with skins
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. white corn syrup

    You will need a candy thermometer.

    Boil sugar, water and syrup until it threads.

    Add butter and nuts.

    Cook slowly to 300°, stirring constantly.

    Add soda and vanilla.

    Pour onto well buttered pan.

    When cold, break into pieces.
