Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. raw shelled peanuts
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 c. water

Directions

    In heavy sauce pan, over medium heat, bring to boil sugar, corn syrup, salt and 1/4 c. water, stirring frequently until it reaches 300°.

    Remove from heat and quickly stir in butter and baking soda.

    Immediately pour onto greased cookie sheet.

    With two forks, lift and pull peanut brittle mixture into about 14 x 12 inch rectangle.

    Cool.

    With hand shape candy into pieces.
