  • 1 c. white corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. raw peanuts
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Place the first 3 ingredients in a heavy skillet and cook slowly to the thread stage at 230°.

    Add peanuts.

    Stir and cook these ingredients just beyond the hard crack stage, 301° to 302°. Remove from heat.

    Stir in the butter, soda and vanilla until blended.

    Pour the brittle onto a greased surface.

    Turn it at once and stretch until thin.

    When cold, break into pieces.
