- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 tsp. butter
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup Karo syrup
- 2 cups raw Spanish peanuts
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Butter a 26 - 28 inch piece heavy duty aluminum foil.

2In a large sauce pan, combine sugar, syrup and water.

3Bring to a boil (238 degrees) and add peanuts.

4Stir until brittle stage (300 -305 degrees).

5Turn off heat.

6Add butter and stir.

7Add vanilla and stir.

8Add baking soda and stir quickly and pour onto foil --- spread very thinly.

9Allow to cool and break into pieces.
