  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. water
  • 5 c. (1 1/2 lb.) raw peanuts
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 Tbsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Cook sugar, corn syrup and water to 240°.

    Add peanuts.

    Cook to 295°, stirring constantly.

    Remove from heat; add butter.

    Stir until dissolved.

    Add soda and salt; stir vigorously.

    Pour out on a buttered slab and spread as thinly as possible.

    Cool.

    Break or cut into pieces when ready.

    Makes about 50 pieces.
