Ingredients

  • 1 c. raw peanuts
  • 1/2 c. white corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. oleo
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    In a 1 1/2-quart casserole, stir together peanuts, sugar, syrup and salt.

    Cook 8 minutes on High, stirring well after 4 minutes. Stir in oleo and vanilla.

    Cook 2 minutes longer on High.

    Add baking soda and quickly stir until light and foamy.

    Immediately pour into lightly greased baking sheet (use Pam).

    Spread out thin. (I use aluminum pie pans.)

    When cool, break into small pieces. Store in an airtight container.

    Makes about 1 pound of candy.
