  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 2 c. raw peanuts
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. margarine

Directions

    Butter a cookie sheet.

    Boil the sugar, water and corn syrup together until a long thread spins from the spoon and the mixture turns light brown.

    Add the peanuts and heat to boiling again, cooking until the mixture turns a brownish gold.

    Add the soda, vanilla and margarine.

    Stir and pour onto the buttered pan. Spread it out as thin as possible.

    After it hardens and cools, break it into pieces.
