  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 1/2 c. peanuts
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Butter sides of saucepan.

    Combine sugar, corn syrup, water and butter.

    Cook and stir over medium-high heat until sugar dissolves and mixture is boiling.

    Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, to 275°.

    Add nuts and continue cooking to 295°, stirring often.

    Remove from heat.

    Quickly stir in soda. Immediately pour onto buttered baking sheets.

    Spread as thin as possible.

    Cool.

    Break into pieces.

    Makes about 2 1/2 pounds.
