- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. white Karo syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. peanuts (1 lb. dry roasted)
- 4 Tbsp. margarine
- pinch of salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix sugar, Karo and water in heavy pan, cook over medium heat, slowly.

2Stir until sugar is dissolved.

3Cook until soft ball stage (238°).

4Add peanuts and salt.

5Cook to hard crack stage (298°), stirring constantly.

6Peanuts turn to golden brown, stir with wooden spoon, about 10 minutes.

7Remove from heat.

8Add butter, soda and vanilla.

9Stir slightly.
-
10It turns yellow.
-
11Pour onto buttered jellyroll pan; flatten.

12Cool.

13Break into pieces. Put into airtight container.
