Peanut Butter Candy

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. white (light) Karo syrup
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. peanut butter (smooth)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Combine first 5 ingredients in heavy saucepan.

    Over low heat bring to a boil and let boil 10 minutes.

    You must stir constantly!!

    Remove from heat.

    Add peanut butter and vanilla. Beat with a mixer for 10 minutes.

    (You can beat by hand, but a mixer is easier.)

    Pour into a buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Allow to cool.

    Cut into desired size pieces.
